This spiral galaxy not only looks like a dandelion caught in a breeze, it's spreading its "seeds" into space like one too. That’s no onion ring! That's Hoag's Object, about 600 million light-years away. This ring-type galaxy is slightly larger than our Milky Way with a blue ring containing clusters of young, massive stars. The yellow center contains mostly older stars. #NationalOnionRingDay pic.twitter.com/Dr0rZ2yy37
